Original Painting by Jaime Best — From the Series "In Wonder"
Step into a surreal dreamscape where dark whimsy meets dual-light storytelling. Curiouser & Curiouser follows our two small travelers carrying a tiny lantern down a winding cobblestone path through a forest of towering, fantastical fungi. Watched over by a grinning Cheshire cat perched atop a giant mushroom cap and a drifting Luna moth, this piece captures the quiet tension between magical wonder and the deep unknown.
Hand-painted using premium quality acrylics and UV-reactive pigments on a 16" x 20" x 3/4" gallery-wrapped canvas, this painting offers a dual viewing experience:
In Standard Lighting: A monochromatic fantasy scene painted in soft, ethereal violet and deep lavender tones.
Under Blacklight (UV Light): When illuminated directly by ultraviolet light, the scene transforms into a glowing atmosphere with radiant neon purples, deep cyans, and piercing blues.
The staple-free sides are painted black, allowing the canvas to hang immediately without framing unless desired. Finished with a protective varnish coat. I have signed the back of this painting.
Digital images do not do this painting justice; it is much lovelier in person.
