Original Painting by Jaime Best — From the Series "In the Shade of Poison Trees"
Poetic and melancholic. For Safe Keeping features a snowman resting quietly against the base of an arching, bare tree atop a snowy blue hill. Suspended from the branches is an open birdcage glowing with blue light, flanked by delicate white paper origami cranes fluttering through a soft, atmospheric grayscale sky.
Hand-painted using premium quality acrylic paint on a gallery-wrapped stretched cotton canvas, measuring 11" x 14" x 3/4". The staple-free sides are painted black, allowing the piece to be hung immediately without framing unless desired, and finished with a protective coat of high-gloss varnish. I have signed the back of this painting.
Digital images do not do this painting justice; it is much lovelier in person.
