Original Painting by Jaime Best — From the Series "In the Shade of Poison Trees"
Poignant, solemn, and deeply narrative. Poppies for a Soldier features a small, helmeted figure standing quietly among tall, towering crimson poppies, holding a rifle in one hand and a teddy bear in the other. Set against an atmospheric, aged backdrop glowing with warm center light, a single vibrant orange butterfly flutters near the top, capturing a delicate balance between innocence, loss, and memory.
Hand-painted using premium quality acrylic paint on a gallery-wrapped stretched cotton canvas, measuring 11" x 14" x 3/4". The staple-free sides are painted black, allowing the piece to be hung immediately without framing unless desired, and finished with a protective coat of high-gloss varnish. I have signed the back of this painting.
Digital images do not do this painting justice; it is much lovelier in person.
